Nd YAG Laser

VASCULAR THERAPY

Laser treatment for facial Veins (“Telangiectasia”), Spider Veins, deep blue Recticular Vessels, Blood Blisters (‘Heamangiomas”), Venous Lakes and Agiomas

What Laser is used?

At Coastal Plastic Surgery & Medi Spa we use the Cutera Nd YAG (1064nm) Laser. This laser combines the ideal wavelength & paremeters to deliver  a superior vascular laser system. This preferred device by Plastic Surgeons is TGA approved, safe and non-invasive.

How does Vascular Therapy work?

The Cutera laser delivers pulses of light causing the blood within the vessel to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel and causing the blood to reroute through healthier vessels deeper below your skin’s surface.

How many treatments will I need?

Individual results and the number of treatments necessary vary depending on your specific condition, quantity, colour and size of the vessels being treated. However patients find that one to three treatments are usually sufficient.

Does the treatment hurt?

Clients may experience a stinging sensation as pulses of energy are delivered which causes blood within the vein to coagulate and destroy the vessel, which is then absorbed by your body.

What happens after the treatment and possible side effects?

Following treatment, some redness, swelling or bruising may occur, typically lasting for less than 24 hours. With larger vessels, a tan or brownish pigment may persist for a few weeks or months. And, in rare instances, blistering may occur.

When will I see results?

Clients find that the majority of veins show significant improvement after two to six weeks depending on vein size and type, however re absorption may take several months. It is recommended vigorous activity is avoided for at least 24 hours and a sunscreen used on all treated areas exposed to the sun.
