Dr Mohammad Mohaghegh

Specialist Plastic Surgeon

Dr Mohammad Mohaghegh MD, MPhil, FRACS is a Specialist Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon, who has dedicated his lifetime pursuing his passion of helping his patients and transforming their lives.  Affectionately, they call him Dr Mo in respect of his kindness and compassion, which is evident from the first moment you meet him.

It was the high level of surgical skill, attention to detail and artistry that first drew Dr Mo to becoming a Plastic Surgeon.  His commitment to acquiring the qualifications paramount in plastic surgery, and his ongoing training in refined technical expertise required to repair and, at times, enhance form and shape, continues to inspire him.

After obtaining his medical degrees and being selected for surgical training he embarked on a further twenty years of rigorous general and plastic surgery training including a surgical research degree at the University of Sydney.

Finishing his undergraduate training in 1996, Dr Mo completed his specialist training in general surgery in 2001 and sub specialty in plastic surgery in 2013.  He further received the Sydney Burn Foundation’s scholarship for his Master of Philosophy degree (Living Skin project) at the University of Sydney in 2015.

Dr Mo has extensive training and experience at many leading local and international hospitals.  During his training as a Fellow, he spent one year at Liverpool Hospital focusing on hand and facial trauma, over two years at the highly regarded Burns Unit at Concord General Hospital plus a further two years at St Vincent’s Hospital focusing on microsurgery, breast reconstruction and aesthetic surgery.  As well, he has spent time at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne focusing on craniofacial anomalies, cleft lip and cleft palate surgery.

In 2018 Dr Mo was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in plastic surgery.  Upon the successful completion of his Fellowship, he undertook a further post training Fellowship in hand surgery, microsurgery, lymphedema and facial animation surgery at Macquarie University Hospital in Sydney.

Do Mo is known for his dedication to his patients and takes considerable time to discuss with them all the available options before commencing treatment.  His distinct approach combines personal attention and clinical expertise with warmth, compassion and care.

Outside his practice, Dr Mo is a proud father of two and enjoys painting, sculpture, cycling and reading psychology.

Although he has a keen interest in rhinoplasty and breast surgery, Dr Mo’s expertise covers a wide variety of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic procedures, including:
